Welcome to the Bradford African Festival of Arts! For our international participants, artists, and visitors joining us from across the African continent and the diaspora, it is essential to prepare your travel documentation early to ensure a smooth journey to Bradford, UK.

Visa Information

Most international attendees visiting the UK for the festival will require a Standard Visitor Visa. This visa allows you to participate in cultural events, performances, workshops, and exhibitions.

Visa Support Letter

If you are a registered performer, exhibitor, or international delegate and require an official invitation letter to support your visa application, please follow these steps:

  1. Complete your festival registration or artist onboarding process.
  2. Ensure your passport details (Full Name and Passport Number) are accurate.
  3. Contact our coordination team.

How to Apply

  1. Apply Online: All applications must be submitted through the official UK Government portal.
  2. Supporting Documents: Be prepared to provide proof of accommodation in Bradford, return travel plans, and financial sufficiency for your stay.
  3. Timing: We strongly advise starting your application at least 3 months before the festival dates to account for processing times.

Travel to Bradford

  • By Air: The closest airport is Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA), located approximately 6 miles from the city center. Manchester Airport (MAN) is also a major international hub with direct train links to Bradford.
  • By Train: Bradford has two main stations, Bradford Interchange and Bradford Forster Square, connecting the city to London, Manchester, and Leeds.
